Errrrrrrrrrr...Knitting!!!!

I hope the old saying "third times a charm" holds true in this case.

Knitting isn't hard.  What is hard, is keeping track of the where you are and how many yarn loops are on the needle.  How can I add and drop without even realizing it?!?!  OK, so I am on the second attempt at this scarf.

In the first attempt, it was way too wide and I was going to run out of yarn.  Not to mention I added and dropped a few yarn loops here and there.  Of course, I did not use a pattern. I mean how difficult could it be?  Knitknitknit... So I ripped it all apart and started over.

Well I did it again, only this time it was a missed yarn loop.  It wasn't until I got further along that I noticed it!  I am sure there is a manual way to fix it, but the mohair in the yarn makes it difficult to work with.  So, I put it aside out of frustration for now.  I expect I will rip some rows and start again... Third times a charm, right???

In the meantime, I started another  one color one yarn scarf - KISS - keep it simple Susan!!!!

GNO Prescott - A Success!!!

Ellen, Susan, Laurie, Annelies, Modesta, Connie, Darlene, Linda & the 10 passenger  stretch limo!
September 2012 - Item#22 & #24
I hosted GNO (Girls Night Out) at my house in Prescott, Saturday 15, 2012.  We had a great turn out with only one member unable to make the event!  Although I had planned some Friday night activities, it made more sense for most to make it up on Saturday instead.  Some of the hubbys made the trip to Prescott and the couples stayed at Laurie & Mike's house!  Thanks - Laurie & Mike!

I contracted with Prescott Transit Authority for 3 hours of limo time providing them with a map of the places I wanted us to visit.

H - My house  B - Drive around the courthouse square   C - Prescott Resort and Conference Center at Bucky's Casino  D - Lynx Lake Overlook  (Not marked) Watson Lake Overlook    E - The Dells residential area    F - Prescott Airport   G - The Barndest Things (2nd hand store)

Everyone was at my house before 11AM on Saturday.  So, while waiting for the arrival of the limo (1:30 PMish) we played a game, had a light brunch and bottle of champagne.

The limo arrived around 1:20PM and it didn't take us long to get loaded into the limo.  Unfortunately, there was not as much room as I thought there would be especially with the food and drink cooler! Thank goodness I got the 10 passenger limo for the eight of us. Eventually we moved the champagne cooler into the front with the driver and it gave us more room to spread our feet!

We arrived back home a little before 4PM.  In all of the chaos exiting the limo, I left my phone behind.  Thanks to Linda and Dan for going into town to retrieve the phone!  We continued to drink champagne,  laughed and talked.  I soon began to prep for dinner - BBQ pork ribs, corn on the cob and tossed salad.  After waiting for the sun to lower in the sky, we had a great dinner outside.

After dinner we enjoyed the pound cake that Linda made!  Ymmm... And I passed out the quiz based on the fun facts of Arizona and Prescott I provided during the limo ride!  Ellen won 1st with 9 out of ten correct answers!  Then Darlene in 2nd with 7 1/2 correct answers and finally Annelies in 3rd with 7 correct answers.  Good job to all!

After a little clean up (thank you Modesta) we sat outside and admired the milky way and other stars!  It was a new moon so the sky was very dark.  We had to get out the blankets for the desert rats, but it did make for a cozy setting...  THANKS FOR TO EVERYONE FOR A GREAT EVENT!
